Our Story

Two sisters, a shared obsession, and a neighborhood that deserved better ice cream.

How it started

A kitchen experiment that got out of hand 🍦

It started on a Saturday afternoon when we decided to make ice cream from scratch — no mix-ins from a bag, no stabilizers. Just cream, sugar, and whatever fresh fruit we had in the fridge. Our neighbors went wild for it. Then their neighbors.

Someone asked if they could order ahead for next week — and just like that, Brookside Dreamery was born.

We grew up in Brookhill Park and wanted to give something back to the neighborhood that raised us. Every pint is made the week you order it — not pulled from a freezer that's been sitting for months. We use whole strawberries, real vanilla bean pods, and heavy cream. No shortcuts. No exceptions.

We're not a factory. We're two teenagers with a serious ice cream obsession and a very patient kitchen. Small batches mean we pay attention to every single pint. That's the way we like it.

🍦 Managing the Menu

Go to the Menu tab to add, remove, or edit flavors. Toggle the switch to show/hide a flavor. Check "Flavor of the Week" to highlight a special flavor with a star badge.

🖼️ Changing Images

Go to the Images tab to update any photo on the site. Each image has a label telling you where it appears. Paste a direct URL to any image — Unsplash works great:

1. Visit unsplash.com and search for a photo
2. Click the photo, then click Download or right-click → Copy image address
3. Paste the URL into the matching field in the Images tab
4. Click Save Images — the site updates instantly

💰 Updating Prices

Go to the Settings tab. Change the price labels (e.g., "1/2 Pint" or "Full Pint") and dollar amounts. The prices update across the entire site — hero banner, menu page, order page, and contact page.

Note: If you use Stripe for payment, you'll also need to update the Stripe function to accept the new amounts. Contact your developer for help with that step.

📧 Changing Contact Email

Go to the Settings tab and update the contact email. This changes the email shown on the Contact page.

🔒 Admin Password

The default admin password is set in the code. To change it, search for ADMIN_PW in the index.html file and update the value.
